This year was our first Thanksgiving together :) A few of our other friends who were here for the holiday as well met together to eat a bunch of food and celebrate as a family.
There was SOO much food!!! My friend Phylicia made turkey, potatoes, and cheesecake. I made Mac n Cheese and sweet potato pies (which are better than pumpkin pie by the way). Others brought green been casserole, baked chicken, and other desserts. We ate SOOO good!!! And the best part was that we got to pray holding hands, just like how our own families do :)
After everyone left and went their way I couldn't help but think how extraordinarily blessed we are. I was thinking how easy it is for us to drive down to Idaho Falls in our Mercedes, for which we have no car payment, grab enough food for 2 weeks, and never to to bed hungry. Not everyone in our world have this same blessing. We are all truly fortunate, and yet we relate my realize it.
All the more reason to thank God for what we DO have and be prepared to give to those who don't have :)
